<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Ixabepilone is an epothilone analog, active as a cytotoxic agent due to its ability to stabilize microtubules of tumor cells. Currently ixabepiloneis approved for treatment of metastatic breast cancer in patients previously treated with taxanes and anthracyclines. In this article we analyzed existing data about its efficacy in preoperative and adjuvant treatment settings as well as in systemic therapy of metastatic breast cancer. We discussed a role of ixabepilone in contemporary treatment of this disease.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>иксабепилон</kwd><kwd>рак молочной железы</kwd><kwd>метастатический рак молочной железы</kwd><kwd>общая выживаемость</kwd><kwd>выживаемость без прогрессирования</kwd><kwd>качество жизни</kwd><kwd>трижды негативный РМЖ</kwd><kwd>интенсивно предлеченный РМЖ</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>ixabepilone</kwd><kwd>breast cancer</kwd><kwd>chemotherapy</kwd><kwd>neuropathy</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Каприн А. В.
