Пересмотрена клиническая классификация, выделяющая резектабельные, погранично резектабельные и нерезектабельные опухоли. Проводятся исследования; посвященные возможностям неоадьювантной химио- и/или химиолучевой терапии. Изучаются новые режимы химиотерапии и современные методики лучевой терапии.
