И хотя на сегодняшний день не было проведено крупных рандомизированных исследований, сравнивающих результаты только хирургического лечения и неоадьювантной эндокринотерапии с последующим хирургическим вмешательством, ряд исследований ингибиторов ароматазы (ИА) продемонстрировал обнадеживающие результаты. В нескольких крупных исследованиях проводилось сравнение различных ингибиторов ароматазы и тамоксифена.
