Разработанный в конце XIX века этот вид оперативного вмешательства претерпел значительные изменения в результате изучения вопросов распространения опухолевого процесса. В статье описаны исторические аспекты попыток хирургического лечения рака молочной железы, история создания радикальных подходов к лечению рака и органосохраняющего лечения. Описаны современные модификации мастэктомии в комбинации с одномоментной реконструкцией, такие как кожесохраняющая и с сохранением сосково-ареолярного комплекса, обсуждены показания и результаты их применения в современной хирургической практике.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Over the last century, mastectomy has symbolized radical surgical treatment of breast cancer. Since the end of XIX this surgical operation has undergone significant changes due to recognize the paths of breast cancer progression.
