С использованием сегрегационного анализа и сравнительной геномной гибридизации были выделены наследственные онкологические синдромы, на фоне которых развивается МК, и картированы гены, вовлеченные в наследственный канцерогенез МК. В молекулярный патогенез спорадической МК вовлечены онкогены и гены-супрессоры, входящие в состав различных сигнальных каскадов.
