Оставляя в стороне правомочность или неправомочность применения средств АЛТР в этих целях, целесообразно рассмотреть проблему с точки зрения возможности создания на основе средств АЛТР новых противоопухолевых препаратов. Проанализированы данные литературы о результатах изучения противоопухолевых свойств и механизмов действия нескольких наиболее изученных и часто применяемых средств АЛТ(омелы белой, акульего хряща, препарата PC-SPES – комбинации экстрактов 8 лекарственных растений).</p><p>Показано, что как эти средства (распространяемые как БАД`ы), так и некоторые из составляющих их индивидуальных химических веществ, способны in vitro подавлять пролиферацию клеток разных опухолей человека, индуцировать в них апоптоз; in vivo ингибировать рост экспериментальных опухолей. Молекулярные механизмы противоопухолевого действия этих веществ опосредованы влиянием на сигнальные пути и ключевые молекулы, регулирующие пролиферацию, гибель (апоптоз), инвазию и миграцию опухолевых клеток, а также блокированием опухолевого неоангиогенеза. Эти данные рассматриваются как доказательства возможности создания на основе средств АЛТР эффективных противоопухолевых препаратов. Однако результаты клинического изучения этих средств и их компонентов весьма противоречивы, большей частью указывают на их неэффективность или низкую эффективность.
